The moment I picked up this shinai, everything about it just felt right for me. I'm kind of a bigger guy, with bigger hands. The started shinai I was given I felt was like swinging a battle axe! With this dobari/koto hybrid, I feel the center is just slightly closer to the tsuka, but the monouchi seems robust enough for me to not break during practice. I like that the tsuka is just lightly smaller diameter for might left hand, to allow me to grip tighter, while closer to the tsuba it is larger to allow my right hand to stay light but still feel it has ahold of it. I just love it. I may have to order 2-3 more if these are truly limited edition!
