The weight of the hakama was just what I'd hoped - should be comfortable in hot weather. The material is 35% rayon and 65% polyester.
The color is darker than shown. Even in sunlight it is hard to tell it isn't black. E-Bogu assures me it will get a little lighter after a few washings.
A note for women: If you wear your hakama at your waist, this might be quite short. I'm only 5'7", but the bottom was about 6" off the mat. I dropped it low around my hips, and that works OK. Just something to be aware of, especially if you prefer that your hakama nearly reach the mat.
The reason for 4 (not 5) stars is the color and fabric of the himo extensions are quite different from the hakama itself. It's obvious they were added. When worn, the center of the knot at the front is distinctly brighter blue than the rest. That was disappointing.
E-Bogu staff were helpful in choosing the right size, my order was correct, and it was delivered very quickly.
