I'm still pretty new to Nitoryu, but I really appreciate the feel of the oval handle for Nitoryu. It's bigger than most standard 37's, which feels more comfortable to me. It's closer in feel to the regular size 39's. The shape and size aids in reducing fatigue in my left arm (daito arm for me). Maybe it's my technique, but they seem more brittle (perhaps because they are still 37's but you forget that a bit thanks to the tsuka. I like the short tsuka so the tsuba is closer towards my hand during tsubazeriai. The leather on this shinai is very high quality. I hope this helps you select this shinai, and e-bogu as they continue to innovate. E-bogu is still by far the best place to go for Kendo gear in the U.S.
