While the bokken is on the short side for a wakizashi, the quality is great, with a solid feeling, good balance, and a very nice color. While the saya's fit was pretty poor (rattle, loose fit on where the habaki would be), all bokken are slightly different and you may not have this issue. Despite this, it's relatively solid and slides on and off easily if worn in an obi, and even during hard sparring the bokken stayed put. Highly recommended, just taking a star for the saya fit on mine.

This shoto matches the bokken I bought many years ago in appearance beautifully. My only issue with the product is that I wish it were longer - while it has a 16 inch blade, as advertised (which fits within the 12-24 length typical of wakizashi), I immediately felt that it was a little short (both in the hand and in the obi) to complement my E-bogu daito (which I actually cut down significantly to match my iaito). I enjoy using this training tool, and it isn't *too* short, however, if E-bogu were to release an 18 inch model as well, I would use it in place of this product in a heartbeat.
