"I have made this Bogu for myself about a year ago. I was shown a Bogu in Japan, made probably about 50 years ago, which I fell in love with. It was a very simple Bogu, with not much decoration, but it was so well made. The Futon part of the Bogu was probably 2 or 2.5 BU Hand stitch which was kind of uneven, which made the Bogu look even better, because it really made the Bogu look hand stitched. The only drawback on that old Bogu was the heavy Men, due to the fact that at that time, they used to use real steel. So I borrowed this old Bogu and I had my factory to make a Bogu for me, with the same characteristics of this Old Style Bogu, but with the newest technology. First the Mengane used is the newest Hybrid Mengane. Also, we have our signature diagonal cut on the Mendare and Tare. The Men Futon part is Nanamesashi, Kote is Double Kera, and much more… I have been wearing this Bogu when I go practice at other Dojos, and so many people asked me if I would ever have this Bogu for sale. Originally, it was a prototype Bogu, which I made it for myself, but with all these people asking, I decided to market it. I has been my favorite Tezashi Bogu, and I am sure you will love this Bogu." 5 of 5 beautiful bogu at a great price May 5, 2012
Reviewer: tarmo
if you are after an understated and traditional-looking bogu, then this one will fit the bill perfectly (the only other option i am aware of would be miyako's tokuren).

what the blurb says is true - the bogu is really well made, with top notch materials throughout, and at least for me, this is what counts. the design is beautifully understated, in fact i cannot think of anything that could be omitted without sacrificing utility. one thing to bear in mind is the short mendare – it really is short. i like it this way, but if you're used to the regular-sized mendare then the look of this bogu will take some getting used to.

the only complaint that i have is that there is a small hole in a palm of the right hand kote only after about three months of practice. oh well, probably just my bad luck.
