Master Quality KENSHU Kendo Kote
Features
KENSHU Kote

Made with top quality Shoaizome deer leather on the fist portion, and top quality brown deer on the Tenouchi (Palm).

This Kote has a very unique fist part. The fist has 5 lines, that runs along with the knuckles. this gives more flexibility to the hands, making it easy to hold the Shinai.

The stitching on the Futom portion, gives an unique look, as well as more protection.

The Kotegashira (Fist portion) and the Futon portion connects directly at the wrist location, which protects your wrist better than the traditional Kotes.

5 of 5 Kote upgrade November 5, 2024
Reviewer: La Monte Henry Piggy Yarroll from Bethel Park, PA United States
I ordered a pair of kote with the my name embroidered (transliterated). The Kote I ordered was out of production. E-BOGU upgraded my order to the next level of quality, and included the embroidery.

I've finally had the opportunity to use them in heavy sparing, and I can say that they are very comfortable, protective, and sufficiently flexible for the Suishi Ryu (Water wheel) style of my school.

I'm disproportionately please with the embroidery of my name in Katakana..

4 of 5 Good quality, less flexibility December 4, 2017
Reviewer: Thierry Marchildon-Lavoie from Winnipeg, MB Canada
I appreciate the little bit of extra cushion around the tsutsu or wrist portion, but the kotebuton is too close to the kobushi (or the tsutsu is too short) and the kotebuton digs into the base of the hand. One more namako (or kera) would have been great to give the wrist more space.

5 of 5 Better protection at the wrist September 20, 2016
Reviewer: Bruce Kawaguchi from Los Angeles, CA United States
My previous kote had a thinner wrist joint to facilitate more flexing but was too thin to really protect well. The Kenshu kote have better protection at the wrist and more flex in the fingers to hold the shinai properly.
